Resolute Robotics requires a once-off purchase, and more than one child can use the materials included in the kit. In the premium version, students are grouped and are assigned a facilitator for the entirety of the course. The premium course also includes weekly webinars throughout the year as well as the opportunity to enter competitions (please see the table below for the differences between the two offerings).

Overview

This course for Grades 4 and 5 is aimed at improving the learners’ coding and fundamental robotics skills. Learners will progress through introductory courses on:

  • Scratch: in this course, students will learn everything from the basics of coding to creating small stories, drawing complex shapes, and building their own games.
  • Micro:bit: learners will apply their block-based coding knowledge through practical activities with the Micro:bit in the Makecode environment.
  • Micro:bit car: after completing activities with the Micro:bit, learners will assemble a Micro:bit car and program it to follow a line, avoid objects, dance to its own music, and so much more.

How does it work?

  1. Select your Robotics stream (Apprentice).
  2. Purchase the kit online.
  3. Access the Resolute Robotics online platform to watch instructional videos (the platform also includes a Q&A portal, should you get stuck). Facilitators can make use of the apprentice book to assist in the learning process. The book works in tandem with the online videos.
  4. Complete the programme and receive a certificate of completion and a letter of recommendation.
